In 2020 with the advent of Covid and a serious health issue, I left my Social work career and began my own intense personal healing journey. I now feel the healthiest I have ever felt in my life and am more balanced and active than I was in my early 30s. I am deeply committed to maintaining my new lifestyle and continuing my personal development work and healing journey.
My Story
I began my Reiki training in 2000 and completed my Reiki Master teacher training in 2020. I had a career in social work for 20 years, and I am carer for my husband.
Since qualifying as a Reiki teacher I have taught Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 and I hope to start teaching Reiki Master teachers in the near future. I run Reiki shares where people meet together to swap Reiki on each other and I also offer Reiki treatments to others. I have been giving myself Reiki treatments every day since March 2019 and I believe implicitly and totally in the value of self-treatment on a daily basis.
I view Reiki as a deeply spiritual path and practice. Reiki has helped me enormously emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. It has helped me to have a much calmer, more harmonious and balanced life. My husband, my 85 year old mum, my friends, cat and plants love it too. I use Reiki in every aspect of my daily life, through both the ups and the downs, and find it offers enormous support in any situation.
I have a keen interest in meditation and holistic therapies having had a daily spiritual practice for over 35 years. I have a regular practice of yoga and use homeopathy on a regular basis.
I teach Reiki with a simple and hands on approach and want to make my teaching available to anybody who wants to learn to whatever level they would like to learn to . Coupled with this I am very excited to offer a coaching service to older women who are overweight or who have suffered with disordered eating, having now healed from my own complex and long term eating disorder.
In 2020 I weighed over 19 stone. I now weigh around 9.5 stone and have lost almost 10 stone, 136lbs to be precise! I have been able to maintain this weight loss over 1 to 2 years. All the way through my weight loss journey I ate food I love and enjoy and didn't feel deprived or hungry. I now have a totally different relationship and attitude to food and love and enjoy the food I cook and eat. Having maintained a constant weight for the last two years I feel I would love to provide a safe container for women over 40 to support and guide them on their journey to explore their relationship with food and weight. I offer services both in person and online.
